Why Football

Why Football? Because Childhood Needs It.

Not marketing — evidence. What the world's best research says team sport does for your child, age by age.

Mental Health

The team is the treatment.

The WHO recommends 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity daily for 5–17 year olds1. But team sport does something individual exercise doesn't: in a study of 11,235 children, team-sport players scored 10–19% lower on anxiety, depression and withdrawal measures2. A 2026 systematic review confirms it — organised team sport consistently links to higher self-esteem, life satisfaction and prosocial skills3.

Belonging, weekly
Age by Age

What football builds, when.

18 months – 5 years

Foundations

Gross-motor skills, balance, coordination, first social play — and a healthy alternative to screens at the exact age Indian under-fives now average 2.2 hours of screen time daily6.

6 – 10 years

Skills & Confidence

Fundamental movement skills, friendships, focus. Physically active children show better concentration, classroom behaviour and grades4,5.

11 – 14 years

Resilience & Belonging

Identity, resilience, belonging. The structured team environment is protective for adolescent mental health2,3 — and keeps evenings anchored away from anti-social influences.

15 – 18 years

Leadership & Pathways

Leading under pressure, fitness habits for life — and real pathways: scholarships, college sport, coaching, sporting careers.

Cross-Training

Football makes every athlete better.

Speed, stamina, agility, spatial awareness, teamwork — the engine room of every sport. It is why you will find a football warming up almost every professional cricket practice in India.

Training for another sport? Off-season and periodic admissions are welcome — football is the finest cross-trainer your child can have.

The Widest Pathway

The biggest door in world sport.

Football has 211 FIFA member associations7 and an audience FIFA measured at around five billion for the 2022 World Cup8. Cricket, for all its brilliance, is played seriously by a narrow band of nations. If your child dreams in sport, football is the biggest door.

India Is Moving

Sport is now national policy.

The Khelo Bharat Niti 2025 — India's National Sports Policy, launched 1 July 2025 — integrates sports into school curricula under NEP 2020 and treats sport as nation-building9. Pneuma is built as a ready implementation partner: structured curriculum, evaluations, and school programmes already running.

360° Development

Body. Brain. Character. Community.

One sport carries all four. That is why we coach it the way we do — and why the first session is free.
